Under1000permonth

I spend a good amount of my day browsing blogs, reading posts, and getting to know what other bloggers are chatting about. That being said, I rarely find a blog that catches my attention for more than one or two post but recently I came across this wonderful blog, It is about a family of 4 that live in Maine. Emily, the mom, stays home with her two small children, while her husband works and goes to school, which is such a common thing for people our age. She discusses their life, trials, triumphs and the way they live. I spent 4 hours reading her entire blog. It quickly became my favorite of all the blogs I have ever found.

I noticed a lot of controversy in her comment section. Honestly, I didn’t pay much attention to it. A few days later I googled the title of her blog because I forgot to bookmark it, as I read through the google search I found some painful sites. Sites completely dedicated to trashing on Emily and her family. With some further clicking through sites I am completely astonished as to what these people are doing. Tracking her every move, including times between comment approvals as to when she should be cooking dinner, picking apart every aspect of her life in GREAT detail and those are only scratching the surface. I am amazed that people that tell Emily to stop blogging and take care of her family spend SO much time tracking her every move. In my honest opinion, I really feel that they need to turn off their computer and get out of their house.

I have come across a lot of blogs, sites whatever that in my frugal opinion were WAY to extreme for me. Such as freegans. BUT, the difference is instead of ripping their lives apart, I went on my way in searching for a blog or site that was more my style. If you aren’t interested in what Emily is blogging about keep looking for a blog where you do like the content. The majority of us really enjoy reading her blog. There is no reason to create such nonsense over one person, who is living her life the way she chooses to live her life. Her children are healthy, her husband is a great provider, and they are a wonderful family just trying to make it is the crazy world.

Emily- I wrote this so that you know that there are a lot of us out her who thoroughly enjoy your blog. I can’t wait to see what you are going to post each day. I respect you as a person, mother and fellow blogger. I can only imagine how this negativity attacks your day. I hope for the sake of those of us who truly love your blog and use it as a great resource you will push through.

  1. I am really new to this blogging thing and have a frugual blog I am working on. I could not find Emily's. No matter, I agree with you, women--real women should encourage other women to be all that they can be in helping their family, We are like fish in the sea, we all might swim different, look different and live different but we are all in the same body of water trying to survive. We should uplift each other and quit tearing each other apart.. I would hate to be known as a shark... Carol

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Really? Meatloaf? Actually this is really good! We usually have it a few times a month. Super easy too! 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup ketchup 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef {I use 1 pound} 3/4 cup milk 2 eggs {I only use 1 egg} 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 small onion, chopped 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 3/4 cup finely crushed saltine cracker crumbs {I usually use pretzels, I never seem to buy saltines} Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 5x9 inch loaf pan. 2. Press the brown sugar in the bottom of the prepared loaf pan and spread the ketchup over the sugar. 3. In a mixing bowl, mix thoroughly all remaining ingredients and shape into a loaf. Place on top of the ketchup. 4. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour or until juices are clear. {source} What's for Dinner tonight in your house?

One Month to love book review

This book is divided into 30 short chapters that cover all different aspects of relationships in your life. Some people are more easy to love than others, and this definitely helps with the difficulties involved in some people. Some things in this book are very predictable. Such as focusing on the person that you actually with. In the age we live in, it is often easier or more convenient to 'play' on our phones or computers, instead of paying attention to the people that matter the most.  Each chapter ends with a challenge which includes questions or things to think about and consider. While much of this book is just reiterating what we all should be doing to maintain and straighten our relationships there are some surprising ideas. One that stood out to me is the chapter entitled. ' Practicing the art of risking awkwardness'.  Included in this chapter is the idea of swallowing your pride and facing the uncomfortable stage where something has happened and usually

BuildASign Review

For a few months I have been playing around with the idea of re-opening my etsy shop. But in doing so I would really want to make a go of it. This meaning, I need inventory, facebook page, business cards, etc. It just seemed like to daunting of a task. I have been working on my inventory for about a month. I still don't have all of the items made that I would like, but I am working on it. Facebook page is up, needs some updating and to be made puuurty but it is created. So on to business cards. I had been contacted by  BuildASign  to review a product of my choice. I jumped at the chance to order some business cards from this very reputable company. I not only wanted a good quality of paper for my business cards, but a customization template that was easy to use. They have it all! With their  Business Card Maker  I was able to create exactly what I was looking for and with very little effort of time. They don't just have business cards. They have a  banner maker , which woul
