Menu Plan Monday January 2nd-8th

Things here on the farm are easy to plan ahead for. However, it doesn't always go that way. So here is my attempt at the first Farm Menu Plan.

Monday-
lunch- roast beef sandwiches
dinner- spaghetti, some sort of salad
Tuesday
Lunch- sandwiches
dinner- turkey pot pie
Wednesday
Lunch- spaghetti
dinner- cowboy potatoes, corn
Wednesday
lunch- sandwiches
dinner- chicken and potato chowder
Thursday
lunch- soup
dinner- tomato and grilled cheese, green beans
Friday
lunch- leftovers
dinner- pizza, some sort of salad
Saturday
lunch- breakfast
dinner- tin foil dinners, extra veggie packet for me.
Sunday
lunch- breakfast
dinner- roasted chicken, green beans

Barn wood reindeer

I was  recently invited to an ornament exchange. We were instructed to create 12 of the same ornaments. We then wrapped one of the ornaments and put the other 11 in a box. We passed around the wrapped ornaments and opened them, sort of like a white elephant exchange. That way we all got to oogle and google  each others ornaments.

I made reclaimed barn wood reindeer. I think they turned out super cute. What do you think? Anyone want a tutorial?




Broccoli Cheddar Chicken Braid

BROCCOLI CHEDDAR CHICKEN BRAID

Ingredients
2 cans Pillsbury Original Crescent Rolls
2 cups chicken chunks, cooked
2 cups cheddar cheese
2 cups broccoli, frozen, steamed and chopped
1/2 cup light mayonnaise
1 egg yolk
fresh rosemary

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
On a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, spread both cans of crescents length wise to form a long rectangle.
Press each of the seams to form a single layer of dough.
In a large bowl, combine chicken, cheese, broccoli and mayonnaise
Spread mixture over the center of the croissant dough evenly to create a log.
Using a sharp knife, cut horizontal strips 1 inch apart down each side of the crescent dough.
Fold the dough strips over the top of the chicken mixture, alternating left and right to create a braid.
Brush the top of the braid with a beaten egg yolk and sprinkle fresh rosemary on top.
Bake for 28 – 30 minutes until golden brown.
