Our Story

Chevy Man and I met back in 2004. He was a friend of one of my friends. He came up to me and said "Are you Brandi?" I looked at him very bewildered.. and said "Ya, why do you know my name?" He then went on to tell me the long line of people who had told him about me and so on. We decided to go to a bon fire together and as he walked to his truck I turned to my friend and told him, "I'm going to marry him."

We only chatted a few times before it seemed to me that he disappeared.

A few months after this I moved to Phoenix. Always wondering what happened to him. On a trip home 6 or so months later I ran into him, we took a drive together. I realized just how much I liked him. He really didn't seem interested. So we exchanged numbers and I headed back to Arizona. I didn't hear from him until a few month later, I received a random text from a number I didn't know. I asked who it was, and it was him! I was ecstatic!

We started chatting everyday anytime that we could. This went on for about 6 months. I decided that I just couldn't take it anymore. I moved back to Idaho. I consider this one of the best decisions of my life. Not only because of Chevy Man, but because 6 months later we found out my little sister has Leukemia.

I can not imagine receiving this news and being 1000 miles away. I would have been a WRECK..

Thankfully she is doing very well and until things are much better with her, I won't be going anywhere.
I brought our first furbaby into our lives together. My cat Chelsi. I have had her since I was 12. She is a persian. We actually just lost Chelsi on February 12th. She was sick and we decided it would be best if we just let her go live in heaven. I miss her terribly. But we have the best Vet in the world and they took great care of her.
Then our second furbaby is Duramax. Back in February of 2007 we got Max. He is the love of my life. :)

So this is our life. Nothing special or fantastic. Just us.

  1. Its so nice to have a face to go with the name now! :) You and Chevy-Man make a cute couple and its a very sweet story on how you met! *hugs*

So sorry on the loss of your furbaby. I have three here and I don't know what I would do without any of them, though I threaten to let them all outside if they keep conspiring against me! lol

Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. Isn't it something when you meet someone and just 'know'? I was only 15 when I met Mike, but somehow I just knew I'd go out with the guy. It was a really strong feeling but I was too young to know I'd met my 'other half.' In November we will be married 30 years, plus 9 years of dating makes almost 40 years.
There have been numerous pets. I'm sorry about your Chelsi but I'm sure she's having fun chasing yarn balls in Pet Heaven. Duramax is adorable! May he live to be 20!
Sorry about your sister but I am glad she's doing well and hope she continues with a quick recovery.
And hey--the reason I stopped by in the first place--thanks for visiting my blog!

  4. I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved cat - it's hard when they get old, I just had to say goodbye to a beloved dog the year before last - a hard decision to make. I hope that your sister is doing better, too. Thanks for sharing your story - you two make a great couple :)

  5. Brandi - thanks for visiting Adventures In Savings! Wow - I miss Idaho sometimes. We lived there for 3 years (a few months in Boise and Mountain Home, then on MHAFB). But Mississippi is our home, so we just look forward to visiting up there again one day!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Really? Meatloaf? Actually this is really good! We usually have it a few times a month. Super easy too! 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup ketchup 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef {I use 1 pound} 3/4 cup milk 2 eggs {I only use 1 egg} 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper 1 small onion, chopped 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger 3/4 cup finely crushed saltine cracker crumbs {I usually use pretzels, I never seem to buy saltines} Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 5x9 inch loaf pan. 2. Press the brown sugar in the bottom of the prepared loaf pan and spread the ketchup over the sugar. 3. In a mixing bowl, mix thoroughly all remaining ingredients and shape into a loaf. Place on top of the ketchup. 4. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour or until juices are clear. {source} What's for Dinner tonight in your house?

One Month to love book review

This book is divided into 30 short chapters that cover all different aspects of relationships in your life. Some people are more easy to love than others, and this definitely helps with the difficulties involved in some people. Some things in this book are very predictable. Such as focusing on the person that you actually with. In the age we live in, it is often easier or more convenient to 'play' on our phones or computers, instead of paying attention to the people that matter the most.  Each chapter ends with a challenge which includes questions or things to think about and consider. While much of this book is just reiterating what we all should be doing to maintain and straighten our relationships there are some surprising ideas. One that stood out to me is the chapter entitled. ' Practicing the art of risking awkwardness'.  Included in this chapter is the idea of swallowing your pride and facing the uncomfortable stage where something has happened and usually

BuildASign Review

For a few months I have been playing around with the idea of re-opening my etsy shop. But in doing so I would really want to make a go of it. This meaning, I need inventory, facebook page, business cards, etc. It just seemed like to daunting of a task. I have been working on my inventory for about a month. I still don't have all of the items made that I would like, but I am working on it. Facebook page is up, needs some updating and to be made puuurty but it is created. So on to business cards. I had been contacted by  BuildASign  to review a product of my choice. I jumped at the chance to order some business cards from this very reputable company. I not only wanted a good quality of paper for my business cards, but a customization template that was easy to use. They have it all! With their  Business Card Maker  I was able to create exactly what I was looking for and with very little effort of time. They don't just have business cards. They have a  banner maker , which woul
